Mozambique's coastline goes on for some 2,500 kilometres, and the good bits are very good: dhow trips through the Bazaruto archipelago, whale sharks off Tofo, and the faded stone town of Ilha de Moçambique. Stay right away from the far north, where the insurgency continues, and use normal care elsewhere. Fun flag fact: it's the only one in the world with an assault rifle on it.
