Visiting Taiwan is safe. Two measures stand out: there is no conflict at all and freedom is as good as it gets, both ranking 1st. Ranked 44th most equal in the world for LGBT people.
Why this rank?
It was the first place in Asia with same-sex marriage, since 2019, with joint adoption from 2023. The law index scores 69 and public opinion 51.
Is it safe to visit?
Fine. Younger Taiwan is enthusiastically supportive and Taipei Pride is the region's biggest. Many couples still stay quiet with family.
Women's Safety
